A furnace breakdown in deep cold is urgent and it is serious
When the furnace gives out in January, the house cools down fast - and in Quebec, that is not just a comfort question. A heating failure in deep cold can become a risk to the house (frozen pipes) and to the occupants. It is the kind of repair that should not wait, and that calls for someone qualified.
The most common furnace failures: an ignition problem, a fouled or faulty burner, a heat exchanger issue, a blower no longer pushing air, a thermostat or a filter. On a gas furnace, some of these problems touch on safety - carbon monoxide is not something to improvise with.
Gas and electric are not repaired quite the same way. A gas furnace burns a fuel: igniter, burner, gas valve, flame sensor and heat exchanger are the parts that cause trouble, and a cracked heat exchanger is the serious risk on the carbon monoxide side. An electric furnace heats through elements: there, it is the heating elements, the relays and the sequencers that give out. In both cases, the blower and the thermostat can also be at fault. We repair both, and gas always by certified people.
That is exactly why the certifications matter. Air 2 holds the RBQ 15.2 licence, is a CMMTQ member, and our technician holds the TAG1 card to work on all gas systems. We repair gas and electric alike, and we never subcontract a gas system to someone we do not control.

Nous sommes en copropriété et nous nous doutions qu'une des copropriétaires avait un nid d'oiseau dans son conduit de sécheuse. Pierre-Alexandre est venu faire un bon nettoyage et a été assez respectueux de la nature pour poser sous nos cèdres les 3 oeufs trouvés avec une partie du nid enlevé au cas où la mère reviendrait pour ses petits.
