The heat pump rebate picture in 2026
The landscape has changed a lot in recent years, and that is where most people get lost. Several older programs have closed or been replaced, while others continue. Here is where things stand today, so you know what you can actually count on.
LogisVert, managed by Hydro-Quebec, has become the flagship program for installing an efficient heat pump. It covers a significant share of the cost of an eligible unit, and the amount is calculated according to the unit's heating capacity and efficiency: high-performing cold-climate models are the ones qualifying for the highest amounts. It is the rebate the vast majority of heat pump projects in Quebec currently rely on.
Renoclimat, the provincial program, still exists but plays a different role: it targets mainly envelope improvement work (insulation, air sealing) and requires an energy evaluation before the work. For replacing oil heating, the federal Oil to Heat Pump Affordability program may also apply to eligible households. The federal Greener Homes Grant, on the other hand, is closed to new registrations - there is no point counting on it for a new project.

Nous sommes en copropriété et nous nous doutions qu'une des copropriétaires avait un nid d'oiseau dans son conduit de sécheuse. Pierre-Alexandre est venu faire un bon nettoyage et a été assez respectueux de la nature pour poser sous nos cèdres les 3 oeufs trouvés avec une partie du nid enlevé au cas où la mère reviendrait pour ses petits.
