Dryer vent cleaning in Longueuil and on the South Shore

Your lint filter catches about half the lint. The other half goes straight through and builds up inside the vent, where you see nothing - and lint is flammable. We clean the entire vent, from the dryer connection all the way to the outside exhaust, with before and after photos and the exact price given up front.

Fire safety

Lint built up in a blocked vent is a known cause of house fires. We remove it, from the connection all the way to the exhaust.

Before and after photos

What comes out of the vent, you see. The condition before, the result after, delivered on every job.

In-house team

You follow the technician from one end of the work to the other. Never a subcontractor, on principle.

The half of the lint you never see

You empty the lint filter with every load, and that is good. But the filter only catches about half the lint. The other half, the finer part, passes through and heads into the exhaust vent - the one connecting your dryer to the outside. In there, you do not see it, and it builds up load after load, year after year.

At first, nothing shows. Then the dryer takes a little longer to dry. Then two cycles for one load. Then it runs hotter than usual, the top gets scorching, the laundry comes out still damp. These are not signs of a worn-out dryer: it is a blocked vent choking the appliance.

And there is the issue that really matters: lint is flammable. An obstructed vent that overheats is a recognized cause of house fires - common enough that insurers and fire prevention agencies flag it. This is not a theoretical risk, it is the main reason this cleaning exists.

Dryer vent cleaning means getting that accumulated lint out along the entire length of the vent. It is a service from the ventilation cleaning silo, done by the same in-house team, with the same transparency: before and after photos of what comes out, and an exact price given up front.

How we clean your dryer vent

From the appliance connection to the outside exhaust, under negative pressure, with lint recovery. Here is how it happens.

1. We disconnect and inspect

We pull the dryer out, disconnect the vent and look at the real condition, from the connection all the way to the outside damper.

2. Negative pressure

We put the vent under suction from one side to pull the lint in a single direction, toward the collector, never into your house.

3. Brush along the full length

We run the rotary brush through the entire vent to break loose the lint stuck to the walls and the elbows, along the full length.

4. Verification and photos

We check the airflow at the outside exhaust and deliver your before and after photos. You see what came out.

"I empty the filter, the rest should follow"

That is the most common assumption, and it is exactly the one that lets lint build up. The filter does its part, but it only protects the first stage. Everything that gets through keeps going into the vent, and the vent never empties itself - on the contrary, the fuller it gets, the more it catches the lint that follows.

The other thing we hear: "my dryer still works, it just takes a bit longer." A dryer taking two cycles to dry one load is not a worn-out dryer, it is a blocked vent preventing it from expelling its hot, humid air. We clear the vent, and the dryer gets its normal drying time back - often like new.

As for "it can wait another year," that is the riskiest bet, because what is at stake is not just convenience: it is the flammable lint accumulating during that year. When the technician opens a vent that has not been done in a long time, what comes out surprises just about everyone.

Frequently asked questions about dryer vent cleaning

For a typical household, once a year is a good benchmark. You should go more often if you run a lot of loads, if your vent is long or full of elbows, or if you have pets adding hair to the lint. If you notice drying times getting longer or the dryer running hotter than before, do not wait for the calendar: that is already the sign of a vent clogging up.
The clearest ones: laundry taking two cycles to dry, the dryer and the clothes coming out abnormally hot, the top of the appliance getting scorching, a burnt or stale smell appearing, or the outside damper no longer opening when the dryer runs. If you recognize one of these signs, the vent needs an inspection - and usually a cleaning.
Yes, and that is the real reason this cleaning exists. Lint is highly flammable, and an obstructed vent makes the dryer overheat: the heat can no longer escape, so it builds up against a material that catches fire easily. Obstructed dryer vents are a recognized cause of house fires, enough that insurers and fire prevention services make it a maintenance recommendation. Keeping the vent clean is first and foremost a safety measure.
It depends on the declaration of co-ownership, but generally: the portion of the vent inside your unit is private (yours), and the common portion or the shared trunk running through the building often falls to the condo association. In many buildings, the simplest and safest approach is a coordinated cleaning for the whole building. That is exactly the kind of work we do as part of our commercial and institutional cleaning, with the manager or the association.
Nine times out of ten, it is not the dryer, it is the vent. When the vent is blocked with lint, the hot humid air can no longer escape, so the dryer runs in its own saturated air and the laundry does not dry. You double the cycles, you double the electricity, and you wear out the appliance for nothing. We clear the vent and, in the vast majority of cases, the drying time returns to normal.

(Translated by Google) We live in a condominium and suspected that one of the owners had a bird's nest in her dryer vent. Pierre-Alexandre came and did a thorough cleaning and was very respectful of nature, placing the three eggs he found under our cedar trees, along with part of the nest removed, in case the mother returned for her chicks. He did an excellent job working at heights (3rd floor) and we will definitely contact this company again if needed. Thank you, Pierre-Alexandre!

Merci Pierre-Alexandre
